// Bako Dagnon
Born in the southwest region of Mali, Bako Dagnon has become a repository of some of the country’s greatest music traditions. The singer was first noticed in the 1972 Youth Biennale in Bamako. Her extraordinary knowledge of the cultures and traditions of the 27 ethnolinguistic communities that make up Mali invited regular consultations by the likes of Ali Farka Toure. Dagnon brought out five domestic albums in her 35-year career. In November 2007, she released her first international CD Titati.
